Twenty Three.....

June made me turn 23, and I am actually excited about it! 23 has a lot to live up to, cause I really liked 22. I would rank 22 as one of my favorites next to 19 and 20. The best part of birthdays is that you get to hear from all of your friends and family, and that is the way another year should start out. My dad has the same birthday as me, and I love that we always hang out together all day. Marcella's is a few days after as well, so we all redeem our free birthday coupons together and I always look forward to it. For those of you who aren't members, join the Red Robin, Baskin Robins, and Coldstone birthday clubs. FREE FOOD!

The best part of June was that the girls and I went to Backstreet Boys. I highly suggest that everyone go a 'blast from the past' concert. They bring back vivid memories of being in middle school. It was seriously the best! Did you know BSB have been around for 17 years? We all loved it, and I left feeling like I was 13. Marcella gave me a BSB plastic backpack a while ago, we laughed cause we thought we would never use it in public. Thank goodness for this opportunity to use that treasure.

I am leaving soon for the Dominican Republic. I will be going down with a BYU study abroad group. I will teach community health classes at night, and then hip hop and dance by day. I am excited, but hope somehow I can turn into a thug/rap/hip/hop genious/ all star really soon so these kids will think I'm cool when I teach them.

Side note. If you live in Utah get yourself to My Dough Girl during July. The cookie of the month is Fresh Raspberry and it will make you wonder how you ever got along without it. It is the best one yet.

I blogged.

Can you believe it is already June! 2010 is halfway over and I really don't like how fast time goes! I am finished with school for the summer and could not be happier! I absolutely loved my first year, but am thrilled to have time to do things I didn't all year. I realized this when I went to Costco the other day and was so happy just to wonder around by myself for two hours and then go watch Oprah. It's the little things in life we take for granted. For now I am just working at My Dough Girl and teaching ballet.

Teaching Ballet was tougher than I thought it would be. I thought I would be the coolest ballet teacher ever when I let my seven year old ballerinas do ballet to Justin Bieber instead of classical. I happen to love JB so I was excited to tell them my great idea. The response I got was this, "Eeewww. I hate that girl Justin Bieber". What?!? What seven year old hates him? Then I felt foolish for liking him more than seven year olds do. Or at least I felt foolish until my 24 year old sister called me to ensure that I had checked out his new music video. Maybe he just has a way with older girls, cause we love the kid. I am attaching his video! Maybe my future boyfriend is taking so long to come around cause I have to wait for him (Justin) to be of legal dating age. Actually I probably just deterred any future boyfriends by writing this tribute to JB. Whatever.

I am not sure what else to update on for now. Today was Sunday and I went on a bike ride by myself and had lots of time to think. I thought about how life goes by way too fast that sometimes we forget to enjoy it. I thought about how sad it is that other things get in the way of us spending time with our loved ones. So, I invite you all to schedule moments into your week where you can call that friend you have been meaning to call, or write that card to your Grandpa that you have been wanting to. Thanks for reading this and hope life is just the best for all of you.

Click on this: Okay, so I can't figure out how to attach a youtube video. Sad. But please go to youtube and check out Justin Bieber Baby video. Do it.

Spring Break

The Update:
In February I went down to Arizona to run a half marathon with my friend Amanda. Everyone should run one! They are the perfect distance, and a great goal to work towards. Oh and if I can do it, you totally can. I also got to see my friend Melissa, the beautiful pregnant lady. She is my best friend from home and it made my year to see her!

In March I had Spring Break.I didn't go anywhere, but had the best week! I realized I had the best week because I got to do something great with each member of my family:
1. Went to the temple with my Dad. Just us two, loved it.
2. My mom turned $@... I can't tell you how old. The highlight of her birthday is when Marcella and I took her to dinner. When meeting them there, two crazy ladies stole my parking spot while pointing and laughing. The passenger (birthday girl) especially thought it was funny. I don't think they knew it was me.
3. Caught my neice Lucy sneaking cookies. She disappeared, and when we found her she was all alone in the pantry. This made me proud to be her aunt, and proud to see we have so much in common.
4. Watched TV with Anthony and Marcella. Really is one of my favorite things to do, they tivo everything and will re-watch funny shows and laugh even harder every time.
5. Hung out with BOTH BROTHERS! Russell (sadly Camille couldn't) came to town for work and surprised us. Greatest surprise! I was reminded of how brothers are the best because they share the exact same sense of humor. There was a man at church with the greasiest mullet in the world. I was praying someone would notice so we could talk about it when the mullet left site. As soon as I was thinking this I looked at Russell and he was already crying from laughing so hard..
6. Went to see Legally Blonde the musical with my best friend Ashton. I would recommend the show, but the best part was going with her! We dressed up like Elle, or I guess I should say we wore tacky things that we secretly wish we could wear on a regular basis without having to make up excuses for it. Everyone needs a friend like Ashton.

My 2009

At the start of 2009, I made a bucket list of things I wanted to do during the year. As I look back I realize that I actually got to do a lot of them! Here is a summary:
* Graduated from UVU in Public Health
* Ran my first Half Marathon!
* Went to the American Idol Finals with Marcella and Anthony, where I touched KEITH URBAN
* Hiked down Havasupai falls (didn't hike out.... but that will be on a future bucket list)
* Ate birthday cake with no hands on my Birthday
Bonus Surprise:
* Realized my gift as a match maker when I set up my brother Russell with Camille (my friend), they are now MARRIED and also my first success couple. If you are single so far I have a 100% guarantee that those I set up at least go out twice, and would LOVE to set you up free of charge.
In 2009 I also realized that life is way weird/unpredictable/sad sometimes/amazing and yet exactly as it should be. As I look back I feel like I am the luckiest girl I know and have so much to be grateful for.
The update for now however; is that I live in Salt Lake and am about to start my second semester of the Masters of Public Health program at the U. I actually really love school and by saying this I realize you probably think I'm kidding, but I'm not. I have way fun room mates and also have my two dream jobs, I teach ballet and work at a COOKIE SHOP!!

I'm Online!

The other night I was trying to make my mom a You tube play list so we could share our favorite Frank Sinatra music videos with each other. She kept on asking me how to do it, and I lied by saying that You Tube was down for the night because I was too ashamed to say I didn't know how. That night I realized my mom and I have these things in common: We are not on face book, don't know how to customize our cell phones, don't know how to blog, definitely don't tweet on twitter, don't know how to update I pods, still get lost using a GPS, and have trouble using a digital camera. This blog is my attempt to get with the times and also a way for you to stalk me, and then I can stalk you!
